Dear Sponsor,
Thank you so much for sponsoring one of our children! By choosing sponsorship with The Future Is Now Uganda Oprhanage, you are choosing an organization where 100% of your money (minus the minimal fees of international currency conversion and PayPal) goes to the children. None of your money pays a salary for anyone in the organization because we are all volunteers.
Sponsoring a child is very rewarding because, for a small amount of money each month, you are literally changing someone’s life for the better. A sponsored child is much more likely to complete a university education, have salaried, white-collared employment as an adult, and become a leader in his/her community.
How It Works
At the moment, only a handful of children have a sponsor so your money will support all of the children in the greatest immediate need until all of them are sponsored. Once they are all sponsored then your money will go to the following:
- Medical care
- Nutritious food
- Clothing and shoes
- Hygiene Needs
- Education
Your generosity also will help Gulu, Uganda. Post-war torn Gulu was ravaged by the LRA for over 20 years, and all of its inhabitants were either killed, kidnapped or moved into mandatory camps until the late 2000s. As these communities are rebuilding, your sponsorship will help us support local businesses and the economy in Gulu. Together we will greatly improve many lives and give hope for the future.
Building a Friendship
If there is a particular child you would like to sponsor, please look at the children’s page with the names and photos of all of the children. Email us here with the name of the child. Many sponsors have a hard time singling out one child and if this is the case for you, your child will be randomly selected.
Initially, you will receive a drawing and personalized hand-written note from your child as soon as possible (which could take a few weeks as it is coming from Uganda). This will also include a photo and his/her personal story.
We would encourage you to start a friendship/correspondance with your sponsor child. You can write back and include a photo of you. At some point in the future we hope to be able to offer email as a form of communication but for now this will be through regular mail.

Feel the Love
When children find out they’ve been sponsored, they are so excited. These are orphans who only have Denis and each other. They are extremely interested in learning your name, where you come from and about your life.
15 year-old, Akello Grace was overwelmed when she found out her tailoring course was paid for after a recent fundraiser just for her.
Denis wrote to the donors, ”I want to thank you so much for having wonderful visions to raise money for Grace’s school fees. Today I told Grace that they already raised enough money for your school fees, she was really very happy and she told me that she was not believing that someone like you can love her because I have been trying several times to get someone to support her education but things didn’t work through till you come in and I hope this is God’s plan. Grace told me to say hi to you for her.”
